The Brain Basics Training
Program provides frontline
Health Care Workers,
caregivers and family members with
an introduction to the world of brain
injury, and equips them with
information that will allow them to
work effectively with persons who
have suffered an acquired brain
injury (ABI). The program gives a
basic understanding of the brain,
the consequences of brain injury,
basic strategies for coping with the
impairments result from ABI, and
the roles of various members of the
trans-disciplinary team that may
have a role in assisting the injured
person to reach his/her maximum
level of physical, cognitive,
behavioural and social functioning
